Phinneas in the Sunset Mountains

He bursts out laughing (as did I at work so thanks lol) "Wow, remind me not to steal their drinks. Anyways, since we're leaving in the morning, do you guys think its worth the risk to help out?"

Andra folds her arms. "I'm not sure it's our fight. We've paid for our room and therefore our safety. We've contributed to them with gold, It's the community's job to contribute back and protect their guests."
Emmerson starts strapping his shield to his arm. "Your approaching the situation like it's an obligation and not an opportunity, Andra."
She flicks a few green sparks into her cup of water "You know, it's not good to use your whole vocabulary in a single sentence like that." Emmerson sticks his tongue out at her, and she stands up letting the fire spread from finger to finger. Her cruel smile returns. "Doreen did give us permission to melt some faces. I suppose I could spare a few minutes to feed the bats."

He grins and starts making sure he has everything. "Worst comes to worse its just another night in the open, make sure you don't leave anything valuable behind in case we can't come back."

Emmerson swings his sword twice to feel its heft and starts out the door, "I'm not fighting with a thousand pounds of gear on my back. It's not like some goblins are going to overrun orcs and dwarves. They probably don't even need us."
Andra follows briskly, her fire now extinguished. "I think he means what if they see us using eldritch blast and invocations. I can just tell them that we're traveling sorcerers. These mining simpletons won't know the difference."

"Fair enough, let's go!" He grins and runs off to the commotion.

You walk out of the bunkhouse and see the north gate with a row of dwarves holding up their shields against flying rocks. A couple orcs swing axes around, but the goblins run around them and usually avoid getting chopped in half. Emmerson runs across the main road. "Hah! The north gate was a diversion. They're climbing over the wall. Come on, you guys."
When you get there, two grappling hooks are over the wall and six goblins are throwing loaves of bread and chunks of cheese over the wall. One of them sees you and screams, "AAH! NEEDED MORE SNEAKY!" Four of the goblins pick up spears that were leaned against the wall and point them at you all.

Phinneas' blast hits the wall behind the goblin. Emmerson runs in attempting to hit the one in front with a hideous blow. He successfully infuses his sword with eldritch fire, but misses his swing.
Andra mumbles, "Good job. Run straight in, idiot," as she summons a bat swarm along the wall enveloping all the goblins for 1 damage. The four goblins with spears attack Emmerson, but he expertly fends them off with his shield. One goblin keeps throwing food over the wall, and one throws a grappling hooked rope over the wall, but it doesn't catch when he pulls it.

The goblin throwing food screams briefly before the fire burns through its vital organs killing it. Emmerson stabs with fire covering his blade, trying to skewer a goblin, but he misses. Andra summons a ball of eldritch fire and hurls it at a goblin with a spear. That goblin dies a similar death as the one you hit. Whatever goblins are left attack Emmerson. None can get around his shield. The one tries to throw the grappling hook over again and remembers to hold the rope a bit too late. He grasps at thin air as the tail of the rope slips over the wall. "EEEEEE! ROPE'S GONE!" The four remaining goblins look at each other and run in different directions.

The goblin Phinneas hits trips with the force of the blast and starts writhing on the ground in pain. Emmerson runs after one and slices it vertically for 11 damage. Andra dismisses her bats before they go after Emmerson and chucks a ball of fire at one of the goblins with spears; she hits for 1 damage. On the goblins' turn those that are left try to keep running. The goblin Phinneas hit along with the one Andra hit are lying on the ground crawling toward the South  gate. The last one turns a corner and is impaled on a spiked shield wielded by an orc.

He calmly walks over to the goblin staying out of strike range "Is there any more of you rats or are you the last one? Tell me and I might just let you go."

The goblin feebly waves his spear at you and falls unconscious along with the other goblin who was crawling. Emmerson walks over. "Huh, looks like it's still breathing." He stabs his sword through its throat and the next one.

"Is that all of them? That was over way to quickly!" He growls with fire dancing between his fingertips.
